Adult Ballet

Maybe you took dance classes when you were younger; maybe you never have and are thinking about starting as a total beginner. No matter who you are, you don’t have to be a professional ballerina to reap benefits from adult ballet classes!  Our Adult Ballet class focuses on exercises, techniques and steps of classical ballet with an emphasis on terminology and correct body alignment. Develops an aesthetic awareness of the art of classical ballet. Includes a warm-up at the barre with center floor work and combinations.

Body Ballet

A modernized, lightweight version of ballet that includes lessons based on classical dance.

 This kind of fitness does not require special preparation, you may start classes at different ages, there are no restrictions on gender or weight.

The complex is based on ballet dance movements and exercises, which are performed on the mat, at the barre, combinations on the center, as well as jumps.

Body ballet is characterized by a moderate pace without jerking movements, which minimizes the level of injury.  Thanks to body ballet, visible results appear in a month:

  • Clamps in muscles are eliminated;

  • The pain in the lower back, back disappears;

  • Tendons are stretched, joints are developed;

  • Improper posture is corrected;

  • Extra weight is eliminated;

  • Movement coordination improves;

  • Grace, plasticity develops.

  Body ballet training provides graceful contours of the body, rather than building muscle mass.

Stretching

Stretch classes are all about setting aside dedicated time to stretch all groups of muscles. Through sets of exercises you will increase body flexibility, improve muscle elasticity, strengthen joints and ligaments, contributing to an overall improvement in body mobility.

Class dynamic:

10 mins: warm up;  30 mins: total stretching of the entire body;  15 min: exercises that will improve your body mobility; 5 mins: cool down.

Pilates

If you are looking to strengthen your abdomen and pelvis as well as maintain good posture, this program is for you. It also has a strong mind/body connection, so it will be a good fit if you enjoy yoga but need a more intense workout for all of your body.

Ballet-Pilates is great for strengthening and toning with a focus your core and for increasing your flexibility.

The exercises are usually done in a specific order, one right after another.

The moves may look simple, but they take a lot of precision and control.

Correct use of external rotation of the legs, or turn-out, is of paramount importance in ballet.

Muscles are worked to the point of fatigue, and then stretched for relief. Proper form, body alignment and posture is stressed, which in turn leads to an overall strengthening of core muscles and the appearance of an aligned, lean body of a Ballet dancer.

Ballet-Pilates introduces signature moves that are informed by ballet conditioning and dance movements. Isometric contractions, where we hold the body in challenging poses on the flore such as Plank or single-leg balances, are ideal, functional moves for men and women, at every age. These moves improve balance, our sense of mind to muscle connection, proprioception (where the body is in space) and coordination - skills and strengths that enable strong, lean, healthy bodies at every age!
