Ballroom Group Classes

Ballroom dancing is a wonderful way for people from all walks of life to get in shape while also releasing their creative juices. This goes past merely benefiting your body- to also benefiting your state of mind and social connections. Dancing is a great social activity, and it has been proving that socializing regularly can have vast health benefits on self-esteem, stress, and even your BMI.
Dance offers a great cardio benefit; provides physical and mental health benefits; reduce stress and depression and promote relaxation. Not only that, it’s fun.

Dancing is fantastic work-out
Ballroom dancing is a low-impact aerobic exercise. It is not only fun but is also a great workout to lose weight.
Dance training serves as an effective form of “maintenance” exercise that helps you stay toned and fit once you’ve reached your goal weight. While you are enjoying ballroom dancing you’ll receive all those benefits without feeling like you’re even working out!

Flexibility
Flexibility is a major benefit of ballroom dancing. Ballroom dancing itself contains plenty of stretching and bending. Over time – especially if you’re a beginner – you’ll find that your range of motion improves and that you have more flexibility overall. Therefore the more you dance, the more flexible you will become. On top of that, your core strength and balance will improve.

Mental health benefits
Mental health is just as vital as physical health and ballroom dance definitely provides just as many mental health benefits as physical.
Dancing promotes the experience of “flow”, which is an almost meditative state that allows the dancer to focus solely on the movements, music, and rhythms instead of worries and stress.
Through the practice and learning of a routine, dancers are exercising the memory centers of their brain as well as strengthening their concentration.
Building up these cognitive skills may contribute to a decrease in the risk of dementia and Alzheimer’s.
Dance lessons provide a fun escape from your typical daily routine, plus a chance to relax, relieve stress, and concentrate just on yourself.

Dance for positive social interaction
Joining a ballroom dance class will expose you to a sea of new people who may potentially share common interests with you.
Our lessons give you the change to expand your social circle, develop connections and engage with people in a low-pressure environment, where there are no expectations.
At We Dance Academies we have a warm and truly supportive, welcoming environment where you will share your passion for dance and get connections transitioning into lasting friendships.
